We Reviewed and Upgraded the Roof's Fall Protection Systems
The Scope
Following revisions and improvements to the standards for the installation and inspection of personal fall protection systems, many asset holders required reviews of their existing fall protection systems and subsequent upgrades.
Vertical Access worked with Sodexo at Manchester Children’s Hospital to review the roof fall protection systems and carry out the necessary upgrades.
Our Response
Vertical Access carried out system reviews across the roof fall protection systems to assess their requirements against the current standards.
Where required, existing systems were upgraded so they could be recommissioned and conform to the current standards. Some systems required complete replacement, with new systems designed by Vertical Access.
Regular management safety visits were also carried out as part of Vertical Access’ approach to maintaining high standards of safety. During a safety visit to the site, the visiting manager found that work was being carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety.
When installing, inspecting and testing fall protection systems, Vertical Access ensures that installations and testing are carried out to the highest standards.
Outcome
Over 20 roof fall protection systems were recommissioned or upgraded at Manchester Children’s Hospital.
