Last Friday, a team of dedicated Vertical Access employees took part in the second leg of the Running the Railways 2026 challenge, helping to raise awareness and support for Centre 56, a Liverpool-based nursery and family centre that provides vital support to children and families affected by domestic abuse.

While the soaring temperatures meant the running shoes didn't get quite the workout originally planned, the team refused to let the heat stop them from getting involved. Swapping running for walking, the team completed the route and played their part in another brilliant day of fundraising and community spirit.

Running the Railways has become a fantastic opportunity to bring people together while raising much-needed funds for Centre 56. The charity has been supporting families across Merseyside for more than 50 years, providing a safe environment, specialist services, and practical support to those experiencing the effects of domestic abuse and crisis.

Vertical Access would like to congratulate everyone involved in organising and participating in the event, with special thanks to Alex Rigby for his continued efforts in driving the initiative forward and raising awareness for such an important cause.
