IRATA Level 2 Rope Access Training


A minimum of 12 months and 1000 hours of work experience in a variety of tasks as a Level 1 rope access technician is required in order to take the IRATA Level 2 course. The course provides each candidate with the knowledge to become a more independent rope access technician.

As a Level 2 qualified rope access technician you will have a more detailed knowledge of advanced rescue and rigging techniques as well as a greater understanding of current industrial legislation. This in turn provides a more independent worker who does not require close supervision.

Our trainers are chosen for their on site experience as well their ability to teach therefore you will benefit directly from their experience. All Vertical Access courses are designed with a practical bias to train you to be able to work safely and efficiently within the rope access industry.

If used with other qualifications, such as trade certificates, then the potential for work will be enhanced, giving operatives the opportunity to prove themselves in this challenging industry.

The training venue utilises structural steelwork up to 15 metres high which resembles many industrial locations to ensure that training prepares you for the work that you will encounter. The venue is indoor and so is not weather dependent with the following facilities on site:

  • Cafeteria
  • Showers
  • Changing facilities


All personal protective equipment will be provided.
